Well, the date is March 14th and the old girl will be turning 26 in just 4 days! Dearest Hubby has found an over night babysitter and he and I, along with our friends, will be dancing the night away in honor of yours truly. I love to dance so this is going to be so great! Well, because of our anticipated escapade, I will be making dinner in about, oh, 20 minutes. Since it is fried chicken, I can make it and leave it out and Hubby, sonny and I can eat whenever we are all ready. Decided against the mashed potatoes because, well, I just don’t feel like making them. Sounds like a good excuse lol. Sonny Boy will be off around 8, I will be getting ready around the same time so I can be ready by 10. Yes, 2 hours…..i’m a girly girl when it comes to going out. So sue me!
This is only day one of the festivities and I can’t wait to get started! I plan on celebrating my birthday for the next month (march 14th to april 14th). Within that time I will get to spend time with all of my friends and have them celebrate with me. You may be wondering “what does this have to do with being fugal?” Well, here’s the break down:
The first 5 people in my birthday group will get in free to the club that we are going to. Its their policy! How great is that!
Also, if I choose to have celebratory glass of champagne, that will also be free. We are all going to the Diner after the club(its a jersey thing) and I have saved up for that so I can treat all of my friends(and hubby) to a free meal in honor of my big day. How did I save? Well, have you read my posts of my CVS and grocery store trips? When I put “xx.xx saved” I actually save that money. Hubby said that whatever money I save at the store, I can use for what I want. Most is going to my own CC bills and I saved some to celebrate me!
Its important to treat yourself every once in a while and why not do it on your birthday? Plus, by using just a bit of your savings on you (manicure, new book, DVD rental) it helps you to see that your savings are tangible and real…..you’ll want to save even more! Thats how I feel about it and thats what I will continue to do as I save. Maybe its my “younger mentality” but the way I see it, compared to others my age, I’m definitely ahead of the game. I should reward accordingly.
