Yes, I am dedicating my whole day(well 3/4ths of it) to my coupons. I’ve got lots and lots to send out to my online buddies. I gotta get them out of here! Plus, with me not (grocery) shopping the rest of the month, there are a ton of coupons that I can get rid of that expire on the 30th. I have been pretty good at keeping them organized, even the ones that I wanna get rid of, so it hasn’t been that difficult so far. I had to cut the coupons from this past weekend and that took a bit, but they are clipped, organized and put away. Hooray! Have you ever felt over-whelmed by the amount of coupons that you seem to collect? While clipping today, I thought about a few ways to get rid of the ones that I(nor my coupon trading online friends) want. Here’s what I came up with:
1. Sell them on Ebay. I’ve seen on there that some people offer 100 or 200 random coupons and people actually purchase them! What an idea! I have quite a few so I could do a few of those auctions. The only thing differing me from doing that is the fact that many people on Ebay are loyal paypal users. I loathe paypal. We’ve had many problems with them so I now use revolution money exchange. No fees! Gotta love that…
2. Not an ebay fan? Try to trade them on a coupon forum like hot coupon world. I have done this a few times when I was overwhelmed with coupons. I actually went into the “random acts of kindness” board and offered the coupons to anyone that wanted to grab them up. My favorite part: you can make a game out of it. Tell posters to guess your favorite number, favorite color, birthday or just randomly pick a person to send them to. Loads of fun!
3. Send them off to the troops. Overseas troops are able to use expired coupons up to 6 months after the expiration date, so this is a great idea. Many sites give you the instructions on how to send these off to them. Since I am a “troop” and I have a few buddies overseas right now, I just may send a few to them.
4. Turn to freecycle. I am fairly new to freecycle but I have already gotten rid of a few deodorants that I got for free but Hubby didn’t like, and an extra birthday gift that sonny boy got 2 of last year. An online buddy taught me the ins and outs of freecycle and told me that her first offer was a group of coupons and they went fast! You can find your area’s freecycle group on yahoo.
I’m sure there are more ideas, but these were the ones that popped into my head. *sigh* i’m off to finish up my assignment. I still have to tidy up my house so my day is far from over. Wish me luck!
