I decided that with all the wonderful, FREE, subscriptions I get to great magazines, I should share the best frugal tips and blurbs from them. Also, this will give me a place to reference back for my favorite tips without keeping loads of magazine pages on file somewhere. Every month I’ll do this rundown, and hopefully you all can learn something too!
From All You:
You may be able to see movies for free! Check out filmmetro.com or gofobo.com to find out if there are any free screenings in your area. If you get lucky, make sure you get there early to get a good seat!
Use lemon juice as your bass and copper cleaner instead of a store cleaner and save at least 24 bucks!
Myth: coupons are mostly for processed, packaged foods.
Truth: Actually, processed or packaged foods are only the fourth biggest coupon category. Medicines, cereal and household cleaners beat out “junk food” in coupon inserts.
From Woman’s day:
Two great things to cheaply keep your home super clean:
Microfiber Mop- It’s cheaper and less wasteful than disposable mops and cleans so much better. It can also be used as a duster, making it a multi-tasker.
Shammy- Soaks up water like a dream and is great at cleaning furniture and counters. You can rub a dry one over furniture to get rid of pet hair!(Plastic gloves also work great for this)
Great clarifying rinse for your hair: Mix 1oz apple cider vinegar with 8oz water and apply to wet hair. Let sit for 5 minutes, then rinse clear.
To get rid of frizz in hair: Rub a dime-size amount of Vaseline between hands and lightly smooth over the top layers to quickly settle hair.
