Valentine’s Day Fashion with Cookies Kids

My girl loves fashion. She just does. She’s been featured a few times on the blog showing off her unique style and asking me to “take pictures” of every outfit she puts together. So, when the opportunity arrived where I could give her a chance to pick out her own Valentine’s Day outfit, I knew she would jump at the chance. Or at least say “OK, mama.”

Cookies Kids is the perfect kids clothing site for a Mom like me who loves a good deal, and a kid like the Duchess who likes to wear unique duds. Within the first 5 minutes, she was hooked. She’d found a cute Dora shirt and immediately asked to get it. We used the Alva Kids icon by size option to make sure that the 3T shirt would fit her.

I enjoyed how easy it was to read the Cookie’s Kids site. It had the perfect amount of white spaces to feature their inventory and catch your attention. I’d have to say it worked since the Duchess spotted that Dora shirt way before I did.

Then we saw this. Oh Mylanta. Clearance online sales are always my dream shopping experience, and the one on Cookie’s Kids was  just that. We ended up finding 2 pairs of funky leggings that the Duchess really liked.

We finally got to the dresses. This was the one that we both agreed on. I thought it was perfect because I could put her in the dress with a red cardigan, black tights and shoes for Valentine’s Day. Then, when Easter rolls around next month, switch out the red cardigan with a white one, black tights for white ones, and some sparkly mary janes I have saved for her. We’ve got two holidays taken care of with just one dress!

When the order arrived, Duchess was very excited. She even remembered the Cookie’s Kids logo and knew the bag for just for her. She had some choice words when she opened the bag. I love that kid.

When it was time for her to display her Valentine’s Day outfit for pictures, she was NOT having it with the dress. Like Mom, she has to be in the mood to wear her dresses, and that day, she wasn’t. Can you guess what she chose to wear? Yup, the Dora shirt.

She also picked out her favorite pair of purple pants and added her new sneakers she’s also chosen from Cookie’s Kids (be sure to check out our Google+ story about our shopping experience). She sure knows how to keep me on my toes, and pulling my hair out. I’m pretty happy that we did get to shop together though. It was a unique and fun experience for us and now she has 2 Valentine’s Day Outfits to choose from for the 14th. Thanks Cookie’s Kids!

Be sure to check out #CookiesKids on Facebook and Twitter. If you’re in the tri-state area, you can also pop in to their brick and mortar stores all over New York City!

love the google + album, my future husband is going to be surprised to find me teaching my kids how to online shop at an early age. How early would you suggest one be able to do that. There are many lessons that came be learned in doing this.

Arelis,

As soon as I saw my girl developing her own style, we started shopping the clearance section of online kids stores. She’ll point at what she likes, I’ll make tabs for it all, then we narrow it down to 2 or 4 things. Well, I narrow it down, she usually wants it all lol!
