With the weather staying deep into the lower temperatures, a girl can’t help but think about Spring. A fashionable girl not only thinks about the weather, but the new styles she’ll wear once things warm up again. But, why wait until spring to wear the spring fashions? Sears has some of 2014’s spring trends available in stores now, and I took full advantage of it. The best part? You won’t have to wait until Spring to show them off. I’ll show you how to wear it now and get the look for less!
Spring Fashion Trend: Tuxedo Pants
The tuxedo pant is a great trend that most women will be able to rock in the spring. This coming season, the usual tuxedo pant will be taken to the next level with a change in colors and textures. Instead of the usual black, go with a colored tuxedo pant or even a pair of white pants with a black faux leather stripe.
These pants from South Pole are comfortable yet sleek. Plus, the price was right: you can get these pants for under 15 dollars and get the look for less. In the Spring, you can pair them with a light collared shirt and some statement pumps, like the leopard print ones pictured above.

Pair these contrasting pants with a jewel toned sweater, or any bright colored winter top. This will highlight the detail of the pants while creating an outfit that will turn heads. Add in a pair of black riding boots and you’re all set.
Spring Fashion Trend: Contrast Collars
Collared shirts are always in style all year-round, but this spring we’re going to see a change in color when it comes to the details of the collar and cuffs. We’ve seen this style in mens fashion year after year, but this season we’ll get our chance to try it out.
This shirt from Metaphor has a great pattern, and the basic black of the cuff makes it easy to style with chic pants or a beautiful pencil skirt. As you can see, I paired them with the tuxedo pants for a spring time cosmopolitan look for less.
How To Wear It Now
These shirts are easy to wear in the winter, as well as spring. Just place a camisole underneath this light and airy piece and top with a structured blazer. Or wear it as is! This shirt gives a great edge to any winter outfit.
Spring Fashion Trend: Water Colors
Spring will be full of artistic fashion this year! Water colors and wearable art was all the rage on the runway last fall. This trend takes the floral obsession of last season to the next level. This particular shirt from HeartSoul is a beautiful flowy top with an amazing detail on the back. Even the cashier at Sears remarked on how beautiful this top is and I have to agree.
In spring, pair this very detailed and feminine top with some dark jeans and a pair of neutral colored espadrilles. Add some gold accessories to bring out the gold buttons on the shirt.
How to Wear It Now
Due to how delicate this top is, you’ll need to use structured pieces to balance out the outfit. I paired this with a brown bomber jacket, dark skinny jeans, and dark brown knee high boots. Add your favorite scarf to the mix and your ready to brave the cold weather.
Spring Fashion Trend: Wide Leg Trousers
This trend is by far, my favorite of the group. Wide leg trousers are on a comeback for spring, and are a style staple that works for all body types. These super relaxed yet chic trousers are from Notations were a steal at 16 dollars.
For a subtle and comfortable spring look, wear a light, long sleeve, bright top under your favorite chambray shirt. To create a feminine silhouette, tuck the shirts into the trousers and cinch with a wide belt. I also paired my pants with some platform, 70s style heels.
How To Wear It Now
Look for a pair of wide leg trousers that higher in the waist and are as straight leg as possible. Those are the styles that are flattering on all body types.
For winter, pair them with a sparkly top and a delicate heel to balance out the billowy pant.
