Pastel Preschool Fashion #TargetColors

Sharing is caring!

The task of raising a little fashionista can be adventurous and expensive. Well, it can only be expensive if you let it. I love to encourage my little girl’s passion for fashion, and her unique style, but I also want to teach her how to search for great deals on outfits that will last at least 2 seasons or more. Last week, we took a trip to Target and I loaded up my Cartwheel app account with mobile coupons just for her. Here are the pieces she chose, the pastel preschool fashions she crafted, and a few lessons we both learned about fashion and the Cartwheel app.

Pastel preschool fashion outfits created by a 3 year old from Target clothing

The little fashionista was really drawn to soft colors and anything pink. There were great mobile coupons on Cherokee and Circo brand kids clothing, so I made a point of pointing her in the direction of those brands within Target. This turquoise hoodie from Cherokee was a favorite of hers sine the lining of the hood was a bubble gum pink. She told me that turquoise “isn’t her color” but would make an exception since the inside was so pink. My kid, ladies and gentlemen. I selected the 15% Cherokee hoodies coupon from the Cartwheel app, and we moved on. The pastel yellow shorts from Circo were on sale for 5.00, but there was also a 5% off coupon on the Cartwheel app. The graphic shirt she picked was actually on clearance for 3.50, and she chose it because, you guessed it, it’s pink.

Cute graphic tee from Cheerokee and an ice cream cone necklace

Once she picked her new pink graphic shirt, I knew that we needed to add a little bit of bling to her selections. We found this adorable ice cream cone necklace on clearance in the jewelry section. While we did find a mobile coupon for jewelry on the Cartwheel app, it didn’t include clearance items. So, I “splurged” and bought this for her for 5.08.

Tip: The jewelry section in Target isn’t just for grown up fashionistas. To save money, look for pieces that you and your little one can both wear. Necklaces that fit like a choker on you will hang perfectly off of your little fashionista’s neck.

Her second outfit was simpler, but again, it featured the pastel version of her favorite color. This pastel pink shirt from Cherokee has the most wonderful eyelet detail on the shoulders and pocket. I was very surprised that she picked this intricate piece. It was one of 3 choices I gave her after seeing a mobile coupon for 5% any Cherokee t-shirt for girls. The boyfriend-type khaki pants were her first choice of the pants I laid out for her to select. The were on sale for 12.00, with a 15% Cartwheel app mobile coupon. She said they looked like summertime. I wholeheartedly agreed.

Tip: Instead of letting your fashionista pick anything in the store, you choose 3 sale items and let her choose 1 from those. She’ll feel as if she made her own choice of clothing, and you won’t have to fight over taking multiple items home, thus busting your budget.

Now let’s talk bracelets. Just like the necklace, I knew she needed a little something to add to this outfit. This bracelet was actually going to be a treat for me, but she ended up falling in love with it. It has multiple rings for the clasp to hook onto, so it’s able to fit her wrist and mine. I’ll rock it at conferences and girls night out, and she’ll wear it on special dates with Dad or her grandmother. Double duty jewelry is such a money-saver.

After using the Cartwheel app mobile coupons, our out of pocket for all 7 pieces was 42.58. While she created 2 outfits, there are a plethora of styles she can make with these pieces and incorporate them into her existing wardrobe. Some of these will even go well with the thrifted pieces I have stockpiled for her to wear this summer. That hoodie alone will get lots of wear all spring and summer. I’d say her little shopping spree was a success and she’s now all set for pastel preschool fashion for the warmer months.

Have you use the Cartwheel app from Target on clothing deals? What was the best deal you snagged?

This is not a sponsored post. I just puffy heart the cartwheel app and my little girl’s fashion sense.

Oh my gosh, your little fashionista is THE CUTEST! That first picture just made me smile out loud practically. You’ve definitely got a mini model on your hands! I love the idea of sharing jewelry with your daughter too, that’s so cute.

Aww thanks Bailey. Yes, the jewelry sharing saves so much money, plus she thinks it’s special that she gets to wear what mom wears. Besides, when she’s 16 she’ll be stealing my jewelry anyway so might as well start now. Ha!

Kelly, the Cartwheel app is one of the coolest things that Target has done for it’s customers. The coupons change weekly, and sometimes they add customized coupons to your account, just for you! I had a maternity one waiting for me last week.
