Maternity Outfit – Grey Tee and Brights

Sharing is caring!

Simple summer maternity outfit with bright accessories

This is my 3rd time dressing a baby bump in warm weather. Each time, I have a different style that I follow. With my oldest son, I focused on capris, large shirts and flip flops. Boy was I wrong with my wardrobe then! By the time my daughter came along, I embraced the maxi of a maxi dress, and wore those all summer. This time, being a bit more fashion savvy and adventurous, I’ve paid attention to form-fitting ensembles. This maternity outfit was inspired by this pin on Pinterest. Once I saw it, I remembered a bandage-style skirt I picked up a while ago. The wheels immediately turned.

I’d snagged this extremely comfortable CAbi t-shirt on my birthday during a CAbi event at my friend Tracy’s home. I won’t lie: it cost a pretty penny. My husband scoffed at how much it cost, and I kind of did too, but I just knew I could wear the heck out of it in maternity outfits all summer and into the fall. The hot pink necklace was a thrift store find my 3 year old picked out. She also picked out the global style bracelet from a Target trip we recently had. You might remember seeing her wear it in this post.

I kept the bright theme going in this maternity outfit with these braided scandals I purchased from Target last year. The tangerine faux snake skin bag was a 15 dollar purchase from DSW last summer. It’s been mainstay in my wardrobe all year. Plus, it matches my polished toes!

While we were shooting, the sunlight changed all of a sudden, and this picture ended up being my favorite of the shoot. The light is so soft, and I actually think I look damn good in it. When you’re pregnant, It’s difficult to feel good about a picture and have it represent how you feel at your current point in life. This shot shows my curiosity of what this little boy will be like once he’s here. This time around, I feel prepared, yet anxious. Serene yet excited. What I love, though, is that I can have all of those feelings without sacrificing my sense of style.

Thank you so much, Justyn! Yes, that bandage skirt worked so well with my belly. It covered up just enough, but I didn’t feel too hot in it. One of my best purchases from Forever 21 🙂 .

Amiyrah, you are one of those women who look stunning in whatever your wear. Being pregnant just makes you more stunning. Can’t wait for September, and your new little one’s arrival. And love the photos, the last one really does belong in a high-fashion magazine…
