Today’s Black Blogger Pioneer is Luvvie Ajayi.
I’ve been sitting on this feature for days. Luvvie is one of the most well-known Black bloggers and content creators in our community. Doesn’t everyone know her? If not, they should.
Luvvie is the author of a New York Times Bestseller, and the creator of http://www.awesomelyluvvie.com, the best humor blog EVER. Luvvie’s writing allows us to chuckle at the tomfoolery of the world, one post at a time. But what Luvvie does best is intertwine laughs with activism.
Luvvie is a genius at delivering back to back punchlines, then hitting us in the heart and soul with what really matters. Trayvon Martin, Michael Brown and the Ferguson riots, the death of Sandra Bland. This soon-to-be best selling author (claiming it) talks about it all on her humor blog. That’s very important to remember. She uses her humor blog to speak up and shout out.
Thank you, Luvvie, for reminding us that our online space is ours. That our platforms can, and should, be used to raise awareness and speak out against injustice when we experience or witness it.
