See those little paper towel sachets up there? Those things just about saved my sanity today. As a mom/student/wife/all around crazy person, I tend to get ideas about catastrophes stuck in my head and have to IMMEDIATELY figure out how to fix it…..even if its not something *ahem* real.
Ok, let me explain the events that caused my insanity today. Sonny Boy lovingly woke me up this morning with these screaming howls that only a mother would not totally freak out over. I steadily walked to his room and found that somehow in the middle of the night, he had a “blowout” in his trusty diaper and well, it got all over EVERYTHING in his bed. Now, its not like this hasn’t happened before, but its MONDAY! for goodness sakes. What a way to start the day. Then to add to the drama, he had terrible diaper rash all over his nether-regions so I had to bathe him then and there and worry about the room later. He screamed, cried, yelled ow and no to no end until I put the powder on and quaranteened him to our room in his play pen. Spent 2 HOURS cleaning up his room and washing everything on his bed.
*sigh* I didnt get to the sachets yet, did I? Ok, well, once I got all of that done and feed sonny and myself, I snuggled into the computer chair and was ready to be uplifted. Imagine what the first thread I read was about? Can you guess? No, not poopy diapers! I read about a lady that had to get rid of all of her stockpiled groceries because she found little mealie bugs in everything. Her whole stockpile! This is where the crazy starts. I haven’t seen those little things since about september when I had just started couponing and had to throw out half of my things in the cupboard. Remembering that tragic day, I got up and went searching. Didn’t find them anywhere so I then cleaned and cleaned and cleaned. Then *bing!* like a light bulb going off, I remembered that bay leaves cause those little suckers to stay far far away. I had little pieces of bay leaves that I had collected so I put those to use (after I cleaned all food cupboards with clorox) by putting some in 6 (for each shelf) paper towels, tying with some extra ribbon that I had and making little sachets. Now, each shelf doesn’t need them but better safe than sorry ;oP.
If I hadn’t thought of those little life savers, i might be cleaning the whole house….from 11 today until right now….6:30…..and probably not be done. I really do need professional help….or another hobby lol.
