This is a great recipe for a energy boost snack that uses up those cheerios.
1/2 cup peanut butter (natural would be best)
1/2 cup sugar(use brown to make them extra chewy)
1/2 cup honey
3 cups toasted oats cereal (cheerios or similar)
1 cup roasted salted peanuts
1 cup chocolate chips(semi or milk; I’ve used M&Ms a few times too)
Combine honey and sugar in a saucepan on medium high heat (you can do this in the microwave too). Bring to a boil and remove from heat. If you microwave it, cover with plastic wrap and put on for 2 minutes. Stir before next step.
Stir in peanut butter until well blended. Stir in the rest of the ingredients and mix until well coated.
Spread mixture into a greased 9×13 pan and let cool before cutting into squares.
