That’s right! You heard me! I conquered that jerk and now he’s(whenever I call something a “jerk” I tend to make it male…wonder why) all organized and pretty. He’s a pretty boy! Yes, he is! Look at that picture! That’s one sexy pantry! Wanna know what I found in that sucker? Here’s the list:
5lb bag of rice
1 box brown rice
1 box spaghetti
1 box lasagna noodles
1 bag wacky mac
1 box yellow rice
5 bags various rice mixes(lipton’s, uncle ben’s, etc)
1 bag instant potatoes
1 tub of grits
1 roll wax paper
1 roll foil
2 bags organic sugar
1 bottle pure vanilla
1 packet plain gelatin
3 boxes of cake mixes
4 cookie dough pouches
1 brownie pouch
2 packs of baking cups
1 trial size of splenda
10 large cans of tomatoes(crushed, puree, diced, etc.)
4 cans peas

1 can chicken broth
1 small can of tomato sauce
5 half gallons of apple juice
1 V8 fusion
1 gallon canola oil
1 tub vegetable shortening
3 meat marinades
5 assorted salad dressings
1 tin of coffee(for if we have guests)
And here’s what was in that cold, frigid, freezer(he’s a jerk too….always hiding something):

4 packs chicken breast
4 packs ground beef
small bag chopped onion
1 bag baked sourdough rolls
small bag un-baked sourdough rolls

1 bottle olive oil
4 boxes instant pudding
4 bottles of ketchup
2 boxes of tea
7 bottles of hot sauce
2 bottles of mustard

4 boxes(10 ct) pop secret popcorn
3 boxes nutrigrain bars
1 pack oreos
1 pack vienna fingers

2 bags hard candy
4 boxes granola bars
2 boxes granola bites
2 boxes fruit snacks
lots of bottles of spices
Plus:
4 bags cat food
8 bags cat treats
4 bags kitty litter
Now that’s some list! I decided against doing an inventory of the fridge because, well, it changes every day lol. Besides, this list is enough. Also, everything on this list are items that have not been opened yet. I have lots of things that are already opened and are being worked into rotation. We have 2 jars of PB open, for goodness sakes! I decided to keep this list up on the right-hand side of my blog from now on, so I have it to change and update when needed and you all can see how much bigger(or smaller) my stockpile gets. Won’t that be fun? *Sigh* Thank goodness it’s done and over with. Now it’s time to start packing! Ugh!
Great job on your inventory lists!
thanks precious!
Holy cow!! That’s a lot of stuff in the pantry! It must feel (1) good to have so much stockpiled, and (2) overwhelming to think about having to make sure it all gets used before going bad. At least that’s how I feel when I look at our pantry & freezer. Your idea of creating an inventory list and keeping it posted is a great one — that makes so much sense! Now if only I can gather up the courage to tackle our stockpile monster….. 🙂
katy, yes you are right on both accounts. I did put the items that will expire sooner right in the front so hopefully they will be used before we move. It was a pain in the behind to get it done but at least its done and I can just add or subtract from it from now on.
Wow! that’s alot of food! And way to go on finishing inventory!
