Meal plan Monday!

Sharing is caring!

Keeping it short and sweet this week! We are trying 2 new recipes this week: slow cooker short ribs( a Paula Deen recipe but made in the slow cooker) and stewed chicken leg quarters. The kielbasa recipe is going to be just like my poor mom’s kielbasa recipe, except I’m adding cabbage to the mix. That’s it! If you’d like to see more meal plans for the week, check out what the other ladies are doing over at orgjunkie.com!

Monday: kielbasa with sauteed cabbage and carrots
Tuesday: baked ravioli(yum! we haven’t had this is sooo long)
Wednesday: slow cooker short ribs with white rice
Thursday: stewed chicken leg quarters with yellow rice
Friday: pizza night!
Saturday: leftovers night
Sunday: roasted chicken made in the slow cooker!

Bread of the Week: Wheat(of course)
Dessert of the week: Banana Bread

I’m also going to make cottage cheese from this recipe by Chef Alton Brown over at Food Network. I can’t wait to see how it turns out! I’m hoping to be able to use it in a recipe next week and send some into work with Hubby this week. He loves cottage cheese and if I can learn how to make it, that would be so cool….at least, to him :o)

Can’t go wrong with a Paula Deen recipe or at least not that I found. The ribs sounds delish! I’m going to have to add that to my menu soon.

    Great looking menu! 😀
    Have a great week!

I need to make short ribs some time. I always want to, but then I chicken out. I’ll have to check out Paula Deen’s recipe. Have a great day!

Thanks for the Pauka Deen recipe. I used to make beef short ribs all the time when DH and I were first married. I have’t made them in years but will try them again with this new recipe. Also please let us know how the cottage cheese recipe turns out. I love cottage cheese and diced fresh tomatoes mixed.

sherry, you are so right about not being able to go wrong with Paula. I love me some Auntie Paula and i’m going to ask santa for all of her cookbooks for christmas lol.

michelle, I chicken out too! This will be the first time that I make them myself and i figured I would do it in the slow cooker because it never fails me. It’s the appliance in my kitchen that loves me the most.

precious, I will definitely let you know about the cottage cheese. I don’t think it will come out bad…I mean, its so easy to make cheese…if I could, I would make my own mozz. cheese because i’ve seen it made so many times. If I can make this for DH every time skim milk is on sale at the store, it would be such a great thing for him to take to work.

Short ribs in the crock pot sound great for a busy day. I didn’t know you could make your own cottage cheese. Hope it turns out.
