In one week from today, I’m going to have 30 people in our 2 bedroom apartment. Lord, help me and my clean floors. So, if you’re like me, you are thinking about what you have to make or contribute for the big turkey day. I don’t have to make the turkey, thank goodness, but I do have a few things on my list, thanks to my mother:
Homemade rolls
Collard Greens
Baked Macaroni and Cheese
Pot Roast
Mashed Potatoes
Should be fun! Right? Right?! Anywhoo, if you need some inspiration for your menu, check out a few of my recipes that will look just right next to the perfectly roasted poultry…..
Apple Chips
Stupid Easy Peanut Brittle
Chocolate Popcorn
Crab Ragoon Bites
Sour cream muffins
Homemade rolls (use the first part of the monkey bread recipe!)
Garlic cheesy bread
Pan fried gnocchi
Cinnamon Apples
Lasagna Roll Ups
Slow cooker beef stew
Leg of Lamb
Grandma’s sour cream pound cake
Slow cooker cobbler (use peaches or apples)
Apple pie
Apple spice cake
Quick casserole recipes
Bread pudding (turn the rolls and extra cake into something great!)
THANK YOU TIMES A MILLION FOR SOME IDEAS, I ONLY HAVE 9 PEOPLE TO COOK FOR SO TY TY TY
OK, I wish I was comin’ over to YOUR house 3000 miles away for Thanks-for-giving! So yumm-O! *Chuckle* I’m gonna go out to my mailbox right now and hope you invited me with an official invite! And your grandma’s sour cream pound cake? Can you Fed Ex me (at least) one piece?
That said, here’s my official entry for Thursday to grab P-dub’s cookbook. Oooh, I want that cookbook so much. And Grocery Boy has shown no indication it’s gonna be under the tree for me… so *Gasp* you’re my only hope, Amiyrah, my only hope, I tell ya!
LOL Sue,
This is NOT ur official entry for thursday. You have to go to the actual post and enter. Wow, you still need more sleep lol.
Oh my, the menu sounds yummy… I have the big day at my house, I get to do the turkey, green beans, rolls, pies, drinks, ect… I have one wonderful sister-in-law and one flake so who knows what she will bring.

Hey 4hats! Love the new template, did you just do it? I swear I just noticed it!! I will feel like a space cadet if you tell it has been changed for awhile!
wow, thank you so much for posting these.
I have already made one goal for 2010 – to cook more at home and to really hit hard on stockpiling.
Thank you and God bless you.
lol KC!
nope, just did it this afternoon. Thanks for noticing! I’m so glad you all love the round up. I hope you find a recipe or two to use this holiday.
Thanks for some new Thanksgiving ideas! I’m only cooking for the 5 of us this year…(skipping the zoo at my mother-in-law’s house, thank you Lord…!) Every year I want to add a new recipe to our Thanksgiving dinner, but I already have so many “loved and expected holiday dishes” that I almost don’t have the room or time to fix a new one! LOL! 🙂
PS- My next door neighbor is expecting lots of holiday company and she has a small house, too- so they are praying for good weather and planning on setting up tables to eat outside!
Well, I’m always excited about your ideas. And I picked up my second turkey today. I’ll keep buying them at the special price if I exceed the minimum purchase on a trip to the store. I think I’ll ask close friends to do the same, then pay them back for the birds.
I hope to have a freezer full of birds by taking advantage of the special Thanksgiving prices.
So now I have many more meal ideas!
