Dear Duchess,
Today, at 5:56am, you officially turned Two. I can still feel the pangs in my stomach from that day. The anticipation of your arrival. The quickness of my labor. You sure made an entrance. You’ve been making an entrance ever since.
Over the past 23 months, I’ve seen you grow. Out of your onesies and baby toys, and into little girl dresses and tea sets. You’re my little Duchess, in the truest sense of the word.
Today, you are Two. At two, you already love:
to dance
to sing
to read
to shop
to be the boss
to be super sweet
to give your Daddy hugs and kisses
to run and play
to tickle your brother
to color
to pick up things that are way too heavy for you
to smile
So, on this day, the day of Two, I can’t help but wonder: what will this year hold? As anxious as I am about the “terrible” part, I’m still excited to see how you will surprise and astound me.
In you I see me, and in me I see you. My little Duchess. Who just turned two.

What a sweet, happy little face. Happy birthday to your little girl! We’re half way through two, and I have found the “terrible” to be minimal. I hope the same will be true for you. 🙂

Happy Birthday Allanah! I’m as surprised as your mama that you’re nearly an adult and already two years old! I hope you had as special a day as you are and drove your big brother crazy all day long. I also hope you gave your mama and papa kisses and hugs so much today that they had to beg you to stop!
