Trix Kix Krispies

Sharing is caring!

Rice Krispie treats don’t just have to be made with Rice Krispies! Whether your favorite cereal is cheerios, cocoa puffs or (double yum) froot loops, you can make these gooey lovelies from anything your heart desires. For the kids’ rainbow birthday party, I decided to make trix krispies. I’d gotten the recipe off of pinterest, but found that doing all Trix would be a complete sugar attack on the brain. So, I added in MY favorite cereal from when I was a kid: Kix.

Trix Kix Krispies
(serves 12)

1 bag of marshmallows
5 cups of Trix cereal
5 cups of Kix cereal
1/4 cup of butter or margarine

Grease a 9×13 pan and set aside.
Place butter and marshmallows in a large microwave safe bowl.
Microwave for 2 minutes or until completely melted.
Once done, pour in Trix and Kix and stir until completely coated.
Place mixture in the greased 9×13 pan and pat down.
Let it sit for about 10 minutes the take it out of the pan and cut into 12 servings.

And that’s it! Everyone enjoyed the extra treat along with the cake (and the thin mint brownies I made). Plus, it was another rainbow themed food! Everybody loves rainbows.
