A Week In My Life: Tuesday

Sharing is caring!

We woke up late. Again. When this happens, it’s not an issue of if we’ll get to the bus stop, it’s more like “what condition will we be in once we do.”

Once I realized that I hit my snooze button twice, I shot up, ran to the kitchen, and threw some eggs in the pan for the kids. I scrambled while they cooked and the toast did it’s thing. I managed to get the kids fed and Sonny on the bus. I’m not ashamed to say that the Duchess and I went to the bus stop in our pajamas. Just keeping it real, y’all.

When we came back into the house, I turn the corner into the kitchen and saw this catastrophe:

Ummm. Yeah. Mama Tazmanian Devil has struck again. Obviously I couldn’t continue on with my day while my kitchen looked this way, so I got to work.

“Not a total Betty, but a vast improvement.” Name that Movie! Sorry, the movie geek in me just came out. Please excuse her. Once I got the kitchen in a manageable state, I put on some Bubble Guppies for the little Duchess, grabbed a shower, washed and deep conditioned my hair, and put on my business t-shirt.

Oh yeah, I also put on a mint mask. Tuesday is “beautification day” here, so I do my hair, my weekly skin “polishing” and I beautify the home a bit. I also folded some laundry and mopped the kitchen floor.

After I folded the laundry, I got Duchess set up with her morning activity, then I got down to business getting my Monday A Week in My Life post up. I also got a moment to eat something myself. Judging from the picture, I ate it too fast to capture it on film. *Burp*

Before I knew it, it was lunch time! Duchess was so quiet doing her activity that I ended up getting quite a bit of work done. She requested peanut butter and jelly for lunch.

Then came nap time. She was not pleased.

While she napped, I braided up my hair, threw on my halloween wig to practice my costume for this year, filmed a vlog, and even watched a few. I swear, nap time goes by so quickly that I think I don’t get anything accomplished, but writing it out here, I see that I really do!

By the time Duchess got up, it was almost time to get Sonny from the bus stop. I decided that today, we’d make use of Big Red and go on a trip to nowhere. I was dying to try out the navigation system in the Acadia, you know, for research. So, I got us lost on a long trip (wasn’t too hard to do; i’m good at getting lost) and had the navigation guide us back home. It did a fabulous job. I even took a few wrong turns to check out it’s re-calculation time and it was extremely fast.

When we arrived back in our neighborhood, we had a few minutes to spare. We went to the nearby playground and got dirty. After 15 minutes, it was time to get The Husband from the train station. We went home, Sonny did his homework, and cooked dinner.

I turned 3 chicken legs, some leftover carrots and field peas, and rice into this:

It was gobbled down by everyone, even my (sometimes) vegetarian son.

To end the night, we got the kids bathed and put them to bed. Then we watched The Voice and New Girl. It was a lovely ending to a hectic day.

I vlogged about my 7 favorite Halloween movies! I’d love for you to check out the video and tell me what your favorite Halloween movie, or movies, are. Have a great day!

The movie with the Betty quote is “Clueless”. Dione, I think (or Cher) says it about Tai 😉

I love that you shared the pic of the facial mask! That takes guts! 😀

Your dinner looks awesome, and I love “New Girl.” I can’t handle scary movies at all. I’m a ‘fraidy-cat.

I know I said this yesterday, but your daughter is so adorable… even in tears. I may not have naptime anymore, but I have pretty much the equivalent when my 4yo attends afternoon preschool… I’m always scrambling to get things done too, and never get as much done as I’d like.

I love that you keep it so real. Oh and I love your smile. So pretty! Hugs, Bobbi Jo

Wow. Beautification Tuesday. Love that. I guess I kind of participated because I got a shower in at 5:50 — p.m. Your daughter is adorable. And I am not a scary movie girl. Too wild an imagination.

Awww! That “I-don’t-want-a-nap” face is so precious!!!

Love the top egg shot. And, I’m loving the similarities in stories some days. I love that you are the second Star Wars t-shirt that I have seen so far and that many of us were taking in a little Zoey via New Girl last night.

You’re so cute!! And hysterical too!

I agree with you on Pet Cemetery. That was always one of my fave spooky movies. The kid Gage really freaked me out!

Oh and I meant to say I used to have Nightmare before Christmas bendable dolls. I wish I never game them away!
