Why art moves us so may never be explained. There are certain paintings that can create a deep reflection within one’s soul and sculptures that awe and inspire us to be exceptional. Art is the gateway to empowerment. We appreciate and practice art within our household daily, my Husband being a musician and producer, my son becoming more interested in story-telling and illustration, and me with my writing. The arts have and will always move us.

This is why Hank Kaminsky interests me so. He was a New York native that became inspired by the Ozark Mountains during a family road trip. While he originally studied science, the lure of Art and sculpture was called to him. He left college in New York and ended up studying Art at a few institutions, eventually getting his bachelor’s degree at the University of Arkansas. After it all, Art bought him back to the state that inspired him originally. That’s the power it holds.

While creating magnificent sculptures, Hank also creates handmade jewelry. You all know how much I enjoy unique jewelry, and his creations don’t disappoint. He’s a master at emphasizing the negative space within a project and his earrings are breathtaking. I enjoyed the Cave Dreams earrings the most, while the Exclamation Circle Filagree pair came in a close second. They’re beautiful, elegant, and original.
