I have a thing for Haikus. Actually, I have a thing for all poetry. I love how it can flow and, with the right muse, you can exude a lovely iambic pentameter of ingenuity. The right topic can really open your heart to creating something epic. Which is why I decided that an Iced Latte would be the perfect subject for a group of Haikus.
Yup, you read that right. Iced Lattes. Silk Iced Lattes, to be exact. With the introduction of Silk Soy Iced Latte into stores, I had the pleasure of receiving a coupon for a free carton, and I must say, I was impressed. It rivals those expensive lattes out there. You know those drinks; the ones that have nomenclature longer than a Royal’s full name. Plus, it’s a great price! You can still add your favorite whip cream and syrup and stay under budget. Because all of this, I had to wax poetic, Japanese style:
Sweet sweet succulence
Within my tumbler you dwell
Just another sip
Sunlight blazing bright
Too early for morning smiles
Need a latte STAT
Iced cold delicious
Jolt of energy indeed
No milk but all Silk
Ahh. Such a wonderful way to pay homage to such a marvelous thing. And on this last day of National Poetry Month, I think I’ve done lyrical artists proud. Expressing my love through Japanese art, the haiku, can only show Silk Iced Latte how much I love it, right? It better. And on that note, I’m off to have another glass.
