It was truly magical to spend this past Mother’s Day among awesome bloggers at Disney Social Media Moms Celebration. I knew that I wanted to wear something light, airy and classic. I also knew that after the Mother’s Day Brunch at Disney, we were going to drive 4 hours so my Great-Grandmother could meet my family for the first time (more on that later). So, wearing a dress that was comfortable was key. Naturally, I went searching at the thrift store for the perfect ensemble.
This is a Be Bop dress that I picked up from Plato’s Closet for only 6 dollars. It’s made of a light fabric and was so great to wear in southern Georgia’s 90 degree weather.
I fell in love with the bow detail on the front of the dress…and the pockets! I’m sucker for a dress with pockets and will be very sad if that trend ever goes away. I also find the pattern on the dress endearing. It’s fun but not over the top.
I paired it with the Bib necklace I made from bobby pins. I love wearing a pop of gold with navy blue and white. It yells summer.
Finally, I had to throw on my Adrina II flats from Crocs. I have been wearing these puppies all over the place and I even walked the Disney parks in them the whole weekend. The pop of yellow with the dress made this outfit so chic!
Did you wear anything special for Mother’s Day?
This week i’m hooking up with Jo-Lynne of Musings of a Housewife, and some other chic ladies, for Fashion Friday.
That is an adorable outfit. I love the pop of yellow and that necklace is genius. Thanks so much for sharing.
Such a cute outfit! I’ve always wanted to shop at Plato’s Closet but I don’t have one very close. It looks like they have some wonderful pieces though for great prices which would make it well worth the drive. I’ll have to get there soon.
Your shoes are adorable and I looove that necklace! So creative and crafty. I don’t think I would have realized it was bobby pins had I seen it in person!
I enjoyed finally getting to meet you at the conference! Wish we could have spent more time together but it was a busy and exciting few days. Hope our paths cross again soon!
Thank you Tesa! Yes, it was so great to finally meet you in person. We’ll have to make time to sit and really chat. Hope to see you at any of the upcoming conferences!
So cute and only $6!!!!
Yes, darling! One of my favorite thrift deals so far. Thanks for commenting, Kelly 🙂
What a great deal on such a fun outfit – I love the pop of yellow, and guess what….I was wearing my crocs on Mother’s Day at Disney too!!
You were?! We should have taken a picture of our crocs lol. It was so great to meet you in person, Jody!
I had to do a double take at that necklace. How CREATIVE!! I love it. I think my girls will love to make one.
Love the outfit too!
Thanks Mary! I’d love to see pictures if you and the girls make your own necklaces. It’s one of my most popular DIY posts 🙂
That is a great outfit! I love it! And love how creative you got with the necklace! I love thrift store shopping!
Thanks Amber! Thrift store shopping is awesome sauce 😀
lovely dress, and oh that necklace, so creative!!!!
Thanks Renee!
Girl, I’m about to go thrift shopping today. You look sooooooo beautiful! Just absolutely gorgeous!
Thank you, beautiful Brandi!
You always win at Plato’s Closet – $6 for that dress is a bargain, and that necklace left me speechless – very creative. I love the breezy ventilated design of the Croc, and the color is perfect for summer.
It’s my go-to thrift store now. I even stopped at one in Savannah on our road trip to Disney.
We just had a Plato’s open here in Traverse City. In fact, grand opening is tomorrow! Very cute dress.
