Rainy days and cheetah wellies

Sharing is caring!

I love rainy days. As a spring baby, I think I was conditioned to like the sound of the rain. My favorite days of summer tend to be the ones that have beautiful, hot weather, with an afternoon shower to cool things down. Yesterday, I had to take advantage of the mellow and somewhat gloomy weather, and take some photos of my favorite rainy day outfit.

Whenever I can, I rock my straw fedora. This hat was purchased from Forever 21 before my birthday trip to Puerto Rico, and I’ve found many excuses to wear it since. It’s lightweight, but gives great coverage for my natural hair. So, on rainy days, I can throw it on and keep it moving.

This polka dot ruffle shirt was one of my favorite clearance finds at Old Navy at only 3.50. It’s not too tight, but does a great job of accentuating a woman’s figure. Since I’m not all that well-endowed, the ruffle gives some pizazz to my…ummm…lady humps. The jeans are also from Old Navy. I purchased these years ago, and I love how they aren’t the usual tight skinny jeans. These are my go-to jeans when I want to play with the kids or need to run around town and be comfortable. They’re also my favorite jeans for tucking into boots, rain or otherwise.

Now let’s talk about these boots! I bought these lovely cheetah wellies from Zulily last fall for only 12 dollars. I’ve never owned a pair of wellies (or rain boots) before, so I was so excited to get my first pair for such a great price. I love that they reach my knee, have faux leather at the top and buckles on the side. I’m a sucker for a buckle on a boot. The print is so chic and fun. I always get compliments on these boots and as long as I don’t grow out of them (is that even possible at this age?), I’ll have them for a very long time.

I hate you a little bit for being so darling. But then you look good, so I look good, and I’m OK with that. 🙂
