Jumpsuit love at Fashion Forward Conference

Sharing is caring!

Wednesday, I had the pleasure of attending the 2nd annual Fashion Forward Conference in New York City. Located at 404 studios in the meatpacking district, The Fashion Forward Conference was filled with valuable information, great connections, companies who appreciate a blogger/brand relationship, and fashion(of course)! The panels were filled with celebrity business personalities, from the likes of Countess LuAnn de Lesseps and Rosie Pope, to  uber-stylist Philip Bloch. This intimate but powerful event left every blogger in attendance armed with the knowledge of how to incorporate their beauty and fashion content into new and current relationships with brands.

With all that said, fashion was definitely the key of the conference, with 2 runway shows and attendees showing off their best. I knew I’d have to step up my game for this event, but the 100 degree weather decided that I needed to pick an outfit that was comfortable and light. Enter the jumpsuit. This H&M jumpsuit was purchased from eBay for 18 bucks, originally 37 with the tags still on. It was actually ordered a size too big, but I love how it drapes on my frame. I’m pretty sure I would have felt too restricted in a smaller size. Plus, it has pockets. Anything fashionable with pockets needs to be celebrated.

I was so happy to get so many compliments on the jumpsuit, especially since I was afraid it would be too casual for the event. Many of the attendees commented on how great the suit looked on me, but then said that they probably couldn’t pull it off. So not true! Jumpsuits are the quintessential outfit for a busy mom. They can be dressed up or down, and if you get the right one, it can beautifully accentuate a woman’s curves. Check out this jumpsuit post from Nicole of MomTrends, one of the founders of the conference.

To top off the outfit, I kept it simple with some gold sparrow-shaped earrings, a bracelet I also snagged from eBay and these fantastic shoes from JustFab.

I love how these brown platform heels complete the chic 70s vibe of the ensemble. I think my afro also helped keep up with the theme, how about you?

Yeaaaayyyy, you! You represented beautifully. Gorgeous on you … please know that your figure in the jumpsuit made the splash … not just the garment. It does have a really appealing print, very retro colors. You’re right about the shoe, and your hair, but what made the whole thing sing, IMHO, is your pretty coral lip! So new, and just right.
Hope you had a wonderful time!
