We just can’t get enough video games in this house. With a Wii, Xbox360, and PS3 among our toys of choice, we love to spend the weekend as a family, tackling some of our favorite virtual worlds. Recently, we turned on our Xbox360 Kinect and tried out the new Just Dance 2014 from Ubisoft.
To say we had a great time is an understatement. I’ve been obsessed with dance games for a long time, and I’ve passed this obsession on to my children. My son, in particular, has come to love the Just Dance franchise as much as I do.
He ended up playing Just Dance 2014 for 6 hours straight on a Saturday. 6 HOURS. It got him up, moving, and learning on a day when he wouldn’t have been able to go outside due to bad weather. Not to be left out, even my 3-year old joined in for a few songs. She’s a big Lady Gaga fan, so when “Applause” came on screen, she danced her own dances and had a blast.
My son enjoyed the new “On Stage” mode within the game. He leads his own backup dancers and takes his dancing to a severe level. He also loved using the “Mash-Up ” dance option at the beginning of each song. He was able to dance to Ghostbusters 5 times and have a different experience each time. You have to love a game with lots of options! I love that we’re able to download new versions of dances within songs automatically. Just Dance 2014 has an improved shop, so as soon as we select a song, we see if there are any updates for an alternate version available in DLC format.
All and All, everyone in our house enjoyed getting down with the new Just Dance 2014 game. With songs from Michael Jackson, Katy Perry, and Robin Thicke (see my awkward dance moves in the video above), each member of your family will have a blast and a half playing this game. The New Just Dance 2014 can be purchased at a retail store near you, or online at sites like Amazon.com.
