pregnancy updates, cravings, baby growth

At 16 weeks yesterday, I realized that baby number 3 has been getting the short end of the stick. I haven’t waxed poetic each week about how I can feel the growth, how morning sickness came and went, or how my fashion style has completely changed since we received the big news. Should I be doing all of this? Maybe. But, right before I let the hormones get the best of me and start to cry, I need to point out that I have been micro-blogging my pregnancy escapades on Instagram. With growing bumps and cravings, the 4 Hats and Frugal Instagram community has been enunciated with updates. Here’s what’s been going down over there:

Belly Business

The belly has gotten lots of attention over on instagram, with me showing growth and my fashion issues. My skinny jeans decided to desert me early on, and I had to resort to using a hair tie to keep them together.

Of course, there are a few shots of the belly all on it’s own.

Cravings Galore

I hate cravings. They try to bust our grocery budget, and if I don’t get the thing I crave, I tend to either get Hulk mad or develop an ugly cry until my poor husband gets up and braves the stores to find it for me. I feel like a complete crazy person when they pop up. This time around, the cravings have been mostly healthy (how boring) but there were a few peculiar ones stuck in there.

The Kid

While I did post about our new addition, and the shock of it all, the kid has been seen a few times on Instagram. Once as the official announcement, and just recently when I had a cool ultrasound that checked for certain growth on the back of it’s neck. We also ended up finding out the sex during that trip, but we’re holding off on sharing until the blood work comes back. Did you know that they can find out the sex of the baby now through blood work?! My mind was blown on that one.

I do plan on posting a few times this week about my pregnancy updates, and I even have a post ready for tomorrow with items that are on my “new mom (again)” wish list. So far, Target is the place to ogle for most of my coveted items. Until then, be sure to stop by my Instagram account for updates and hilarious pregnancy antics. See you there!

When I was pregnant with my kids I wasn’t really on the internet much so there is not digital tracking of either pregnancy. I will say that kid number 2 got a LOT less pictures, baby book entries, etc. with a toddler running around I barely had time to eat, much less photograph anything!

I thank God that I was blogging more often when my second came around. Her whole growth is on here. Otherwise, she would have no pictures or documentation that I was even pregnant with her lol.

Our 5th baby is 11 months – it’s weird the more babies the less pictures and not only that no photo albums, they are stored digitally!

Yes! The whole new thing of having pictures stored digitally is interesting. I have to remember to print a few out from time to time to put up on the living room wall, or else our guests would think we don’t love our children lol.

I was going to say that it’s good your cravings are healthy ones….but then I got to the lasagna and tator tots pics! Ah, well – everything in moderation!

Ha! Yes, the lasagna was a big surprise. The tots aren’t that bad since I bake them, but I have a craving for anything potato, so a baked one with butter has been my new favorite.

Awww congrats! Send some baby dust this way please! LOL! Sounds like you are definitely having a lot of cravings! I had no idea they could tell the sex of the baby through blood work now…how clue!

Sending you some preggo juju! Yes, I was shocked when the tech told me that they can find out the sex through blood work now. They draw your blood, then separate your blood from the baby’s blood and are able to tell by certain levels of whatever if it’s a boy or girl. So weird/cool!

I can’t wait to hear if it’s a boy or girl! With my third, I always craved fruits and black olives. Healthy cravings aren’t that bad 🙂

They aren’t that bad, unless you eat healthy most of the time and would love to have an excuse to pig out lol! I miss simple things like chili cheese dogs and cinnamon buns. Oh, and milk. My hippie baby is not down with any of that mess.

YAY for babies! {well, baby – I only saw one in that ultrasound photo!} Great cravings, too. I craved baked potatoes every day during my pregnancy!

Yup Emily, only one baby in there, although my husband thinks there has to be another one in there since my belly is growing so quickly lol! Potatoes in one way or another have been my saving grace. Potatoes and cucumbers. I’m so weird 😀

Microblogging is my new favorite thing when it comes to this baby. So easy and most of the time, I don’t have to leave my bed. Ha! Thanks for commenting, Brandi!

I had missed the IG also, or I was self absorbed the last few weeks. Congratulations!!! As I now have one in college and another driving and in some sport all the time, I’m more thankful than ever to have my third baby (now almost 15) to hang out with and for her to get a lot of one on one time that she didn’t get when she was in the toddler years.

Super excited to watch the journey!

Hahaha! Yes, send him lots of prayers. He’s very patient with me, especially when I’m pregnant.
