This past weekend, the family and I ventured into Philadelphia. I attended an event with the little fashionista, while the boys explored the museums. I hadn’t been to Philly in quite a few months, so I wanted to dress for the occasion. It was a glorious day and it needed an equally glorious outfit.
The Life Jacket from CAbi was a special birthday purchase. It was definitely an investment piece, but when I tried it on, I immediately saw at least 5 outfits that I could create from it. Plus, a striped blazer or jacket is a true staple piece, since it can be used as a neutral and can be worn in the spring, on summer evenings and in the fall. You’ll be seeing this featured again in future fashion posts. Also, can I say how much I love CAbi? The clothing feels comfortable yet stylish and each piece I coveted was a quality piece. If I had a larger budget, I’d rock pretty much every piece in their current line.
The white tee and red pixie pants are both from Old Navy. I was inspired to wear a white tee after reading Jo-Lynne’s post on how to wear a white t-shirt. I have an aversion to white tees ( I’m a stain maker and a sweaty ball of mess) but I said the heck with it and rocked this one. The white tee was free with my purchase of the pixie pants, so this whole outfit was only $25 dollars. I also love that you can slightly see my baby bump and my belly button. Maternity style to the max! (I just dated myself…)
This gold geometric necklace was a favorite find from JustFab. I’ve been paying more attention to their jewelry selection since I love unique and funky pieces. I ended up using some member points to get this one for only 2.95.
Since I featured these Steve Madden sneaker wedges in a post a few months ago, I had been loving on them. They were a Christmas wish list item, and my lovely husband surprised me with them a few days after Christmas. They are edgy, cool and comfortable. I love how they up the ante of this nautical outfit and gives it a city chic vibe.

Elaine, I love these pixie pants. They really are like wearing yoga pants but dressed up. Not too tight around the belly but form-fitting.
