A big thanks to The Philadelphia Orchestra for offering our family complimentary tickets to Pixar in Concert.
We are a Disney family. It’s been no secret to anyone that has chatted with our family (especially our kids) and has read this blog. My position on the Disney Parks Moms Panel also shows just how much I love Walt Disney World and anything Disney related. Since the age of 7, I’ve been hooked. It’s been amazing to see my own children become Disney fanatics, mostly through viewing some of our new favorite movies. Pixar studios has been a big factor in getting my little ones addicted to Disney, so when we were contacted about attending the Pixar in Concert, I jumped at the chance.
The Philadelphia Orchestra will perform Pixar in Concert, live music scores from the studio’s beloved animated features combined with dazzling film clips from all 14 Pixar hits. The program offers the unique experience of the Orchestra performing the vibrant scores to montages of Pixar films, in concert at the family-friendly times of 7 PM on Friday, July 25, and 2 PM Saturday, July 26, in Verizon Hall at the Kimmel Center.
We’re so excited to experience the music from Toy Story, Finding Nemo, Brave, The Incredibles and more, while attending the symphony. We all know how key music is to the mood of a movie, especially a Disney Pixar movie. A melody can have viewers rooting for the hero, experiencing the danger on-screen with the characters, or even missing our own families. I have to admit, I’ve shed quite a few tears during a pixar movie, just from watching a beautiful scene and hearing the accompanying music.
Do you remember that scene in Toy Story 2 where Emily left Jessie in a donations box, on the side of the road? Gets me EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.
If you live in the Philadelphia area, tickets are still available but going fast. Tickets can be purchased online at www.philorch.org, over the phone at 215.893.1999, or in person at the Kimmel Center Box Office. This would be a great summer memory for your kids, and for yourself. You can’t go wrong with Disney magic mixed with beautiful music.
