30 Days of Financial Affirmations

This is day 18 of the 30 Days of Financial Affirmations challenge. If you missed any of the previous days, check out the overview page for links to the other affirmations.

I’ve heard so many people mention how “the little things” in life make the biggest impact. How we handle day-to-day tasks and challenges affects us in the long-run. This is even more true when it comes to finances.

Have you encountered someone that made an embarrassingly big deal over a small situation? They would talk about it for days, re-living how they felt about it and how that small thing has caused strife in their life. Yet, those are usually the same people that will receive a small amount of money out of the blue, and won’t celebrate it. Their reaction to the little things sets the tone for how the big things will manifest into their lives.

It’s important for us to celebrate all advancements in our finances. Whether we find an extra 5 dollars in our budget that can be added to groceries or savings, or the bank tells you that you earned an extra 15 dollars due to interest on your saving account, those need to be acknowledged and appreciated.

Remember, your windfall is watching. It waiting for the perfect time to appear, and the more you celebrate the little things, the sooner your financial peace will come. This is true in other parts of our lives as well. I remember reading that we must embrace our current home if we are looking to upgrade to a better abode. Take care of that place, and view it as a palace. As soon as we embrace that mindset, attaining a bigger and better home will be much easier.

I’ll admit to you all, this is very hard for me to do currently. With a family of 5, and a kitty, living in a 2 bedroom apartment, it is very difficult for me to celebrate this “little thing.” I find myself cursing our current living situation. I also find that we’ve been having difficulty finding our first home. My mindset isn’t helping our dream home manifest. I need to get back to loving the little things.

Here’s your affirmation for today:

The little things are stepping stones to the big blessings.

Today’s task has us reminiscing a bit. Did you pay off a small bill recently or received news about a small promotion, or found money? Spend time today reflecting on it and celebrating it’s manifestation. As a bonus task, go back to the list of 10 items or experiences that your windfall will be used for once it manifests. Are you appreciating the current version of those items? If you are looking to buy a new car, are you taking good care of your current one? Are you thankful each and every day it gets you from point A to point B? Let’s be intentional when it comes to celebrating our current financial blessings.

Do you pay attention to the little things in life, including small financial windfalls, and celebrate them?

I really like that: “The little things are the stepping stones to big blessings.” It’s so true! I try to remind myself to be content with what we have and also in what we don’t have. It’s something I try to get across to my children often, but I realize that the best way for them to learn that is for me to live it out myself. I sometimes get discouraged and “want more” but I also realize how difficult it would be to appreciate more if I don’t fully appreciate what we already have. I find that when I am truly content with what I have and where I am in life then I am pleasantly surprised and grateful when an additional blessing comes along, no matter how big or small. Thank you so much for sharing this, Amiyrah! It’s a reminder that I need from time to time. 🙂

Oh Dawn! That comment just made my heart sing! You are such a great mom, and I’m sure the example you’re showing your children will have a big impact on you. I can’t wait to see your financial blessing manifest. You have so many great things coming your way.
