30 Days of Financial Affirmations

This is day 4 of the 30 Days of Financial Affirmations challenge. If you missed any of the previous days, check out the overview page for links to the other affirmations.

Yesterday we worked on our self-worth. Today, let’s think about the self-worth of a dollar. We touched on the idea of it being a parasite, or a speck of pollen. We’ve understood how attracted it is to us. But, does it work as hard as we do?

Here’s the reality of it all: money can slip through our hands like water. It can disappear as fast as we can make it, and it seems like there is nothing we can do about it. Our mindset is that if we make MORE money, maybe it will slow down a bit and not leave us so quickly. Really, we make the mistake of not allowing money to work as hard as we do.

Think about all that you do each and every day to provide funds for your home. You arrive at work, you use your intellect to accomplish a task, and you do this repeatedly. Those of us that may work at home, or may be Stay-At-Home parents shouldn’t forget all the work we do. What we accomplish in a day right at home creates, or saves, income as well. Now why don’t we put our dollars to task like we put ourselves? Because we give it the easy way out — through our hands. It’s time for a change.

From now on, our money will work just as hard as we do. When we pay a bill, we’ll recognize that each and every dollar is putting us towards a goal. We visualize each and every dollar added to our savings as a stepping stool towards something positive in our lives. Whether we’re saving for a new home, college tuition for our children or just a new vacation, we’ll envision each dollar climbing towards what we are going to reach.

Here is today affirmation:

I work hard, so my money should work hard too.

Here is today’s task:

Make a list of 5 things you want your money to climb towards during the rest of the month. Are you saving for a vacation? Trying to pay down a big bill or debt? List these accomplishments as already done. Claim them as finished and visualize actual steps that your money will take to make this vision come true. You have to climb to reach the top, so visualize your money doing the same.
