I used baby products by JOHNSON’S® to care for my little one as part of a sponsored post for Socialstars #johnsonspartners #SoMuchMore
Baby Frugal’s bedtime routine has been somewhat of an obsession of mine since he was born. While I love to give our children leeway when it comes to their daytime routines, I’m pretty strict about how our nights will go. Sleep is so important for babies, and for the parents, so a routine that encourages a good night’s rest is key. Over the past few months, I’ve learned that not only is a bedtime routine essential for baby, touch and massaging baby with JOHNSON’S® Baby Lotion during that routine is also important.
Did you know that research has revealed routine touch and massage by a parent or loving caregiver is critical to baby’s growth and development, communication and learning? While we make sure that bath time is intimate, and that we give Baby Frugal undivided attention, we weren’t paying too much attention to touch and massage after bathing. I’d rub the kiddo down with his Johnson’s Baby Lotion, throw on his PJ’s, read him a story, then hope for the best.
Once we started to really delve into baby massage, and having eye contact with him while performing it, we saw a big change in his behavior and his sleep pattern. Touch and massage can enhance bonding and early development. Johnson’s® Baby Lotion is designed to easily massage your baby, clinically shown to moisturize for a full 24 hours, and designed to be gentle enough for newborn skin.
After rubbing him down with Johnson’s Baby Lotion, I focused on massaging his back, legs, and his little feet (even the toes), while speaking softly to him about his day. Then, Daddy comes in to play with him for a few minutes, while I pick our bedtime book. We read together and cuddle on the couch until he starts to get sleepy.
Most of the time, we put him in bed while he’s tired but still awake, but I have to say my favorite moments are when he falls asleep in my arms, and I can steal a sniff of that iconic lotion. The smell of Johnson’s Baby Lotion even gives me peace, since I was also rubbed down with it when I was a baby. One day, my little may be holding his own baby just like this. It’s amazing how influential Johnson’s Baby Lotion has been over generations, and how revolutionary they are now with their research of the power of smell and touch.
