30 Days of Financial Affirmations

This is day 8 of the 30 Days of Financial Affirmations challenge. If you missed any of the previous days, check out the overview page for links to the other affirmations.

A watched pot never boils, and watched money never grows. Does that sound silly to you? Well, it is. But, it’s also true. We get into this habit of checking our bank accounts, paypal accounts, and mailboxes for incoming money. This is probably the worst thing we could do if we want our money to multiply.

Just think about it. If someone watched every move you made, would you want to be around them all the time? If they asked you “when are you coming home” or “when’s the next time I get to see you’ just about everyday, you’d go crazy. Don’t do that to your money.

I’ve done it too. I know that a payment is coming, and I even know the date. But, I stare at my bank account or paypal everyday. I wait, and watch and worry. It causes anxiety that I don’t need in my life, and you know what? It immediately blocks my blessings. One day, I decided to just stop. Stop staring and let the money arrive when it needed to.

What happened after that was amazing. I was finding myself only checking my accounts once a week. Then only once a month. Within the times that I didn’t check, I was offered even more opportunities to make MORE money. Because I wasn’t wasting energy on staring and worrying, that energy was used to increase my funds. Before I knew it, my monthly income has tripled. Tripled!

I stopped staring, believed that my money was on it’s way to me, and let the increase come on it’s own. That’s all. It’s amazing how much believing and trusting can change your life.

Here’s your affirmation for today:

I won’t stare. I will believe. My money is mine, even the amount that hasn’t arrived yet.

Your task for today might be a difficult one, but it will help you start a great habit. Pick one day of the week for you to check your financial accounts. Maybe it’s the day that you get paid from your job, or maybe it’s the end of the week when you pay bills. But, that day will be the only day that you check your accounts. Give the money a chance to grow.

Are you guilty of watching your money? Does it cause you anxiety?

This is going to be quite a change for me. I will have to work on it every day.

This is a tough one! I definitely spend a lot of time watching when I know I shouldn’t, so I accept the challenge. Thursdays are going to be my day. Now to make that empty time productive!

This is going to be a little hard. I am constantly checking my bank account but my day will be Fridays. I get paid every 2 weeks and those are the days I pay bills, so if I am not spending excess money, I really have no reason to even look at my account if I know how much I have after I have paid my bills.

This is one of the hardest tasks to stop, but it will be so helpful once you break the habit. I love the idea of picking Fridays!
