The new season of MARVEL: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. premieres tonight, and of course that has all of us Netflix lovers excited to watch prior seasons from our couch. While binge-watching is course for the par when it comes to Netflix, I have to tell you: don’t binge-watch AOS. Just, don’t. Why? Below, I’ll tell you 4 reasons not to binge-watch Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
OK, if you are a fan of AOS, you know that Skye has progressed well throughout the seasons. BUT. If there ever was a character that started off whiney, it’s my girl. Skye’s unwillingness to stop the talk-backs and foot-dragging just might drive you crazy if you binge-watch. You need Skye in installments, especially in the first season.
Dude. If there ever was a show about spies, agents, and supernatural entities that constantly switch sides, this one would be it. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is all about the double agents. Thus, you won’t be able to process it all if you binge-watch. You need at least 2 to 3 days of a cushion to think about what you watched. To say goodbye to characters that have switched sides, and hello to the ones that will now becomes your new favorites. It’s that serious.
Comic Book In A Show
If you grew up reading comic books, you know that you had to wait a certain amount of time before you could read a new one. You ingested your comic, reached the last page, and then patiently waited for the next comic to be released. This is how Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. works. Watching one episode at a time, then patiently waiting a week (OK less than a week) to watch the next one is the best way to do it. Don’t muddle up the good storyline by pushing yourself to watch “just one more” before bed. Just, don’t.
There are 22 Episodes
Have you noticed how many episodes are in an AOS season? There are about 22. Yes, that’s a lot. Yes, that’s way more than many other shows. Yes, that’s way too many to binge-watch. Also, so episodes FEEL like a whole season in one. Prepare yourself. If you feel physically exhausted after watching an episode or two, stop and regroup. Your mind has been blown and you need to take a small hiatus.
