In this homeschool family, we’re all about free lessons. Whether those are via a trip to the park, or a quick surf of the internet. One of our favorite places to learn online is via Khan Academy.
Khan Academy has increased its coolness lately with their partnership with DisneyPixar. Pixar In A Box is a new program that offers lessons for all ages, and is located under the Partner Content section of the app. Best part: these lessons are free. Free is awesome, isn’t it?
Math + Science = Fun
Pixar in a Box is a great program that shows the magic behind the creation of our favorite DisneyPixar films. If you have kiddos in your home that are excited to learn more about math and science, but in a fun way, they need to try out these lessons.
The teachers of each lesson are actual DisneyPixar employees, from animators to scientists. Kids learn from those that create this mathematical magic on a daily basis.
Learn At Your Level
One thing that I love about Pixar in a Box is that it’s useful and exciting for all learning levels. I have a 6 year old and 11 year old who homeschool, so we are always in search of programs that they both can enjoy at their level.
Pixar in a Box does just that. My more advanced 11 year old can learn in a deeper way via the lessons, while my 6 year old can stick to the basic lessons.
Homeschoolers Can Track Progress
The partnership with Khan Academy makes Pixar in a Box a great addition to any math or science curriculum because you can track your child’s progress. Create an account for each kid, and have them log in before learn their lessons.
You’ll get to see which lessons appeal to them, and encourage that curiosity by guiding them to more lessons about said topic. My 6 year old is currently obsessed with scaling, so we’re nurturing that passion with more Pixar in a Box lessons.
There’s a new Finding Dory Lesson
Finding Dory is now part of Pixar in a Box! There is a new Finding Dory course available, in celebration of the release of Finding Dory in theaters.
Learning about Pixar in a Box during the #FindingDoryEvent was a great experience, especially for this homeschool mom. This will be yet another fun way to incorporate Disney into our curriculum.
