We all wait impatiently for summer to come. We plan, and plot, and make our summer bucket lists. Yet, once summer gets here, we feel like the time goes by so quickly! There’s much that can be done since the daylight hours are longer, and the weather is pleasant. How can we decide what should be done first? Well, in our house, we have a simple list of things to do before the end of summer. They are are must-dos, our “have to get them done before school starts” checklist.

Ride A Bike

Yes, this might be an easy one for most. But, because there are so many other things we could be doing, we forget about this simple little task. Whether it’s spending time teaching your kiddos to ride those bikes they got for the holidays, or getting on your own bicycle and riding along with them, get out there and have some two-wheeled fun!

Make A S’More

The Martin family are s’mores connoisseurs. We make them the traditional way, with hazelnut spread, round, buttery crackers instead of graham crackers, and a nice, fluffy marshmallow. Sometimes, we even make them with lemon curd. You want to s’mores it up with us. With that said, we sometimes forget to spend time together creating new concoctions for our favorite summer treat. Even if we can’t get around an open fire, we make them on the stovetop. It’s never a dull moment watching your family members try not to make a mess while eating their s’mores.

Play Outside

Have you been that family who spent tons of time in the car, or away from home this summer? Time to enjoy your very own front yard and backyard. Since this is our first year in our new home, I have to admit that we’ve been rockstars are exploring our own outside space. We play dodgeball, frisbee tag, jumping rope, and so much more. We get dirty and stay out until the sun goes down, which is way past our kids’ regular bedtime. It’s been glorious. I challenge you to do the same.

Watch A Movie

Take advantage of the lazy days of summer, and watch a family movie together. Some of the best activities you can do together this summer might include some quality time on the couch. Rent a movie that you all may have missed in the theaters this past spring, pop some popcorn, and enjoy the show.

Before we tackle these 5 summer must-dos, I always have to make sure things are tidy and clean. From wiping down the counters to prep for our s’mores party, to cleaning out the toy bucket in the backyard, Clorox® Regular-Bleach always comes to the rescue. I can clean and disinfect our inside and outside living spaces, including the backyard patio and the downstairs guest bathroom (which gets used a lot in the summer). There are many videos that show how to use Clorox® Regular-Bleach to quickly clean and disinfect the surfaces of your home, so you can enjoy the last days of summer. Here’s a helpful list:
