I have been given compensation for this post by Kia Motors. However, all thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.
There’s something about a joy ride. Not the illegal one, that you should never do, but one where you have no place to go and time to just enjoy your vehicle. I feel like I never get to take a joy ride anymore. It’s all appointments, grocery shopping, after-school commitments, and everything else household related. But, no time for mom. So, what do you do when you need a good joy ride in a great car? You go to the auto show.
The International Auto Show in Cleveland is currently open, and I had the opportunity to take a Kia Ride and Drive. Responsibility almost got the best of me. With all the options to choose from, I immediately thought of the family centered vehicles. The Kia Sportage, Kia Sedona or even my true love, the Kia Optima Hybrid are all at the top of my list. But, since I planned to take a Ride and Drive all alone, I knew I could have a little fun. I decided to choose the Kia Stinger.
The 2018 Kia Stinger
Why did I go with the 2018 Kia Stinger? Because it’s a performance vehicle at at working mom’s price point. The Kia Stinger was nominated as a top three contender for a COTY (Car of the Year Award), and rightly so. Here are some of the awesome specs of the new Kia Stinger:
- It has 376 feet of torque
- Up to 365 horsepower
- Can go 0-60 mph in about 4.7 seconds
- 23.3 cubic feet of cargo space, with the second row up
- Pricing starts in the low 30s
I knew if I had the chance, I had to give this car a go. With Kia representative Sahoud giving me the low-down of this beautiful vehicle, I was ready to go. BONUS: Just for giving being part of the Kia Ride and Drive program at the Cleveland Auto Show, I was able to receive a $10 Amazon gift card. Being paid to drive? I’m in!
The ride in the Kia Stinger was a dream. I was able to drive around Cleveland’s I-X Center, and Sahoud coached me the whole way. Speeding up, rocking the curves of the road, and even using the awesome start/stop technology in the Kia Stinger. It was the coolest 10 minutes I’ve had in a long time.
I had such a good time, I convinced my husband that he needed to take his own Kia Ride and Drive in the Kia Stinger. He took our tween son with him, and Sahoud decided to give them the same superior treatment he gave to me.
We had so much fun at the Cleveland Auto Show, not only exploring the Kia Stingers on the floor, but crawling through the Kia Sorento, Sportage, and Optima Hybrid. I even took a peek at the Kia Cadenza, another one of my dream cars. It was such a great evening.
