With a blog named 4 Hats and Frugal, you can bet that we have at least 100 meals to make when you’re broke. And we do!
Here’s a list of over 100 meals you can make when you’re broke; those weeks or months when you’re short on funds but need a hearty meal to get you through the day. Bonus: most of these are kid-friendly.
How to Use This 100 Meals List
This is a robust list, but you can easily decipher it and make it a valuable resource for you at this time.
First, I suggest you print out the list. I’ve turned the list into a quick printable for you. Once you print it, go through the list and highlight meals you know you would like.
Next, highlight (in a different color) the meals you’ve never tried but want to. When you’re on a tight budget, it’s so important to still try new things within that budget. Being financially strapped can cause you to stick to the same habits, but trying new things and doing things differently can help you get through this temporary situation.
Once you’ve done these steps, turn them into a meal plan. I suggest having the meals you’re used to most of the week while plugging in the new meals once a week.
How To Find The Recipes
Most of these meals don’t have recipes, but if they do, I have linked the recipes for you. If there isn’t a link, I suggest searching for them on YouTube.
I’m suggesting YouTube rather than another site because you can cook along with the YouTuber. If Iink a recipe, I’m confirming that the website has a good recipe for that meal. With YouTube, you can see for yourself what the meal looks and feels like.
Your List of Meals To Make When You’re Broke
Here’s the full list of the meals. Also, a quick note: It’s all temporary. You’ll get through this moment in time. But while you’re here, you have to nourish yourself. I hope these meals fill you.
