family Inn, buffet restaurant

Disclosure: My Family and I were invited to this blogger media trip. All opinions and experiences are my own.

During our blogger media trip to Lancaster, we were invited to stay at the Bird-In-Hand Family Inn and Restaurant. Located in Bird-In-Hand, PA, the Bird-In-Hand Family Inn was an amazing place. It’s not just a hotel, it provides a full vacation experience right on it’s own property. There were two miniature golf courses, a petting zoo, a playground, two indoor pools, one outdoor pool, and of course, a restaurant with the best smorgasbord selection I’ve ever seen. We enjoyed out dinner there and the breakfast Sunday morning. There was almost an hour wait for dinner and after we had stuffed our bellies, we instantly knew why. Not looking to hit up the buffet? They offer a full dining menu as well.

The Duchess had so much fun on the playground, as did her brother. They call any vacation a success when they can run around with other kids without any type of time limit on fun. We let them run around before our dinner. The crisp Pennsylvania air sure did help all of us feel relaxed.

We also took a family stroll around the grounds. Not only did we find a beautiful fountain (with koi!), we also spotted the petting zoo and scooter rental office. I have to say, I think I enjoyed the petting zoo most of all. I have a thing for Llamas, so when I saw the beauty above, I squealed just a little. They had chickens and goats as well. We had just missed feeding time, so we decided to come back in the morning to give them the food the front desk had passed out to us during check in. Since everything is right on the property, it was easy for us to get up and walk right to the petting zoo in the morning. That walk in the morning solidified our decision to come back again.

The kids had a world-wind day, and ended up going to bed early. Next time we visit, we’re hitting up all 3 of those pools. My water babies will get a kick out of the challenge! I also think we’ll take the complimentary tour of the Amish farmlands. We fell in love with the culture, so a tour would be a great experience. Once the kids were asleep, the husband relaxed in our huge family suite while I took advantage of the free wireless internet. The Bird-In-Hand Family Inn is the perfect place for a weekend getaway, for any family looking for an interesting vacation or staycation.

I was so excited to see that picture at the top of your post. I haven’t been to that area in about 10 years, so it was an awesome flashback! I loved eating at that restaurant and it’s making me hungry right now just thinking about it.
