When I experienced my first time in New Orleans last month, I had the pleasure of experiencing not one, but two amazing hotels. The New Orleans Hotel Collection treated me to a night in the famous Bourbon Orleans Hotel, and 2 nights in the beautiful Dauphine Orleans hotel. While I would never choose a favorite between the two. I can share the experiences I had at these unique hotels located right in the French Quarter, and let you know why they are great choices for a Girls Getaway to New Orleans.
Bourbon Orleans
The Bourbon Orleans hotel is in the epicenter of New Orleans culture; up the street in one direction the famous Bourbon Street, full of bars, shops and around the clock fun. Up the other way is the St. Louis Cathedral, a famous New Orleans Landmark, and Jackson Square, a beautiful park near the world famous distributor of beignets, Cafe Du Monde. While staying at Bourbon Orleans, you are always steps away from history and the finest dining establishments. The courtyard of the Bourbon Orleans has a breathtaking pool and seating area; perfect for those hot and humid Big Easy days. The renovated rooms were chic and comfortable, and I really enjoyed the large and modernly decorated bathroom. Since the hotel is very close to Bourbon Street, the guests were always ready to have a great time, laughing jovially in the halls and calling out to friends and roommates late into the night. Or, maybe those were the ghosts talking. Yes, the Bourbon Orleans is said to be the most haunted hotel in New Orleans, and I can definitely attest to that. But, we’ll have to share that story in another article.
Dauphine Orleans
In the heart of the French Quarter and just one block from Bourbon Street, the Dauphine is viewed as a great boutique style hotel. The Dauphine is only a few blocks from Toulouse Street wharf for the river steamboat Natchez. Located right on Dauphine Street, I enjoyed “people watching” from the shared balcony right outside of my room. The Dauphine has very large and well decorated rooms, and my room even had a connected door to the next room; this would make it perfect for a large group of ladies experiencing their first girls weekend in the Big Easy. I enjoyed the ample space in my room and the option of having a fridge! With the heat and humidity wrecking havoc in the summer, it’s so important to have cold water waiting for you in your suite. Even with the hustle and bustle going on down on the streets, I had a relaxing and quiet rest inside of my room. I really enjoyed my 2 days spent at the Dauphine. If you choose to book your accommodations here for a girls trip, ask for one of the Carriage House Courtyard Rooms that’s located in the eighteenth century Carriage House. It’s a historical yet beautiful setting for a great weekend getaway.
While these were the 2 hotels that I was fortunate enough to stay in, The New Orleans Hotel Collection has a plethora of amazing accommodations. Hotel le Marais, Hotel Mazarin, Wyndham Riverfront New Orleans and Crowne Plaza are also within their NOLA collection family. My choice for my next trip? The Audubon Cottages. An enclave of seven cottages that are accessed from a private gate, this oasis provides a quiet space amongst the rowdy fun of Bourbon Street, which is only less than a block away. I’m hoping to get back to NOLA soon to explore (and film) these beautiful cottages.

It’s a great place to put on your bucket list! I hope you get there soon.
I just gasped out loud at that window… and the pool. So pretty! I would love to visit New Orleans someday!!!
I hope you get there soon! The Dauphine was gorgeous and it’s a great choice for your accommodations.
I love the hotel, it looks beautiful. I have always wanted to go to New Orleans.
It’s a great city! I was surprised at how affordable it is to get there and explore. Just touring the hotels with history would give you so much to see for free.
I live about 35 minutes away and love visiting different hotels in NOLA. I have stayed at Bourbon Orleans and it is definitely a nice way to spend the night in NOLA. So glad you had a great time in N.O!!
Thanks Maria! I had a blast in NOLA. I’m trying to get back there in October for another trip. It’s a wonderful city.
Very nice, looks really peaceful and relaxing. I always picture New Orleans to be busy and loud but this looks tranquil!
