I am a Jenkinson’s ambassador. All opinions are my own.
When you’re turning 4, and your mom tells you that you get to go to the beach on a weekday for your birthday, you tend to freak out a bit. Now, if you mom also tells you that your dad and your auntie are going to take off of work so that they can join you, you lose your mind. At least, that’s what happened when we told our girl that we would spend her birthday at Jenkinson’s Boardwalk.
We’d ventured to Jenkinson’s a month before and had a fabulous time. Since then, the Duchess had been asking when we would be going back to “The Shore” and the rides. Every week she would ask about our next excursion, not satisfied with my previous answer. If I was a normal mom, I’d be annoyed with this. But, I’m a little crazy already, so I understood why my little Jersey girl was eager to get to the sand and surf. We all know that spending time at the beach is the key to having summer done right. Toes in the sand, boogie boarding on a great wave, or just basking in the sun and enjoying the warm weather. That’s what we call an epic summer day.
We celebrated the little girl’s big day by chowing down on Boardwalk Pizza, Boardwalk fries, cotton candy, funnel cake and lemonade. Then we passed out. Just kidding! The rest of the family rode some of the Jenk’s rides, while this pregnant mama sat under the shade. Don’t worry: I had a big bottle of water and a bucket of fries to keep me company. It’s the little things that make me happy.
As usual, we had an amazing time at Jenkinson’s. It really is our favorite family destination down the shore, and now, it’s holds the memories of my little girl’s 4th birthday. Summer is pretty awesome.
