I’m currently writing this while waiting to board my flight to California for D23 Expo! If you are new to my website, you may notice that I do love fashion, whether it’s a cool thrifted outfit, or dressing up to see blockbuster movies. Clothes are meant to be fun. So, when I was invited by Disney to attend D23 Expo 2015 with 25 awesome bloggers, I needed to think up some fun outfits.
While I love a good costume, and wearing uncomfortable yet awesome clothing that’s geek chic, this time I had to factor in a few key points:
I’ll be 3,000 miles away from home. No chance of switching out clothing to “better” an outfit.
I’m bring a carryon. That’s it. A few pieces would have to do double duty, or stay home.
I don’t want to spend a million dollars on new clothes. As a frugal fashionista, that would be against all that I believe in.
A hat has to be incorporated into at least one outfit. Check out the name of my blog for reference.
I needed to pack at least 1 extra outfit for options. Girl problems, yo.
I needed to create as many Star Wars outfits as possible, because…Star Wars.
Want to see what I came up with for D23 Expo, and our two nights we’ll be spending at Disneyland? Behold.
This Boba Fett Disneybound outfit is built around comfort. The high-low dress from Forever 21 feels like you’re wearing a t-shirt to bed, and the yellow tights from Target aren’t to shabby in the comfort department either. The boots are from JustFab, and the belt is thrifted.
Can we talk about this Bob Fett snapback hat? I found it on Amazon, and had to buy it. It’s the only piece of clothing that I spent over 10 dollars on for this experience. I kind of have an obsession with Boba Fett, so this purchase was warranted. I plan to wear this quite a bit.
Daisy Duck is my favorite classic character. Even though she’s not part of the Fab Five, she still holds my heart. I had to put together a sassy yet fun Daisy Disneybound outfit in honor of her. This one will possibly be worn during one of our two Disneyland visits. We’ll be dining at Carthay Circle in California adventure to celebrate the release of Cinderella on DVD and Blu-Ray, and I thought this would be a great option for outfits that night. The V-neck shirt was an 8 dollar purchase from Target. The tulle dress was an eBay find from a few years ago, and the sandals are so old, I don’t even remember where I purchased them. The headband is also from Target. Thank you, girls section.
This Princess Jasmine Disneybound outfit is my second option for our dinner at Disneyland. The whole outfit was inspired by the necklace I found on eBay. It immediately reminded me of my favorite princess, so I had to buy it. The high-low dress was a thrift find from last year, and I’ve worn the heck out of it. It’s breezy, light, but not too frilly. The belt is also a thrift find, as well at the bracelet and earrings. The Sanuk sling flip flops are a purchase I made a month ago, and I’m in love. They are made out of yoga mat material, and are perfect for walking the park or the even the expo. You need these in your life.
Chewie is BAE, so I had to create a Chewbacca Disneybound outfit for this occasion. The boots are the same ones from the Boba Fett outfit (double duty), and the tank was a gift from my husband. The skirt was a 7 dollar clearance purchase from H&M. But, this outfit is incomplete. For weeks, I’ve been looking for a brown cardigan to go with it, and haven’t had any luck. I’m sure the expo will be chilly, so I’ll need something. Still trying to figure that one out.
Last but not least is my full-on Star Wars Disneybound outfit. I saved up for this Lightsaber skirt from Her Universe, and it did not disappoint. It’s glorious! I’m pairing it with a basic white tee, a faux leather jacket, my “Kyber crystal” necklace, and my Steve Madden sneaker wedges that are so badass I can’t stand it. I will be packing my Star Wars Vans in my bag during that expo day, in case I want to change shoes. But, I don’t think that will be necessary. I left my lightsaber at home because I thought it might be “too much.” I’m currently regretting that decision.
Which disneybound outfits are your favorite? Which outfit should I wear to our Cinderella dinner at Carthay Circle? Let me know in the comments below!

I love all of these, though the Daisy is my favorite. I’d love an excuse to wear a tulle dress/skirt like that!
Love, love, love the outfits!!! I can’t wait to see you adventure. That lightsaber skirt has to be my favorite!!! Have an amazing time!!!
Um, I can’t pick. Seriously. All so, so good. Though I have to say that Chewie outfit is on fleek (or whatever the kids are saying these days). 😉
I love them all! I think Jasmine is my favorite just because I love teal. Can’t wait to (hopefully) run into you!
I love, love, love the Chewie outfit!
Love them all and bonus points for fitting it all into a carry on.
Perfection! I love the Star Wars outfits, but wear the Jasmine outfit for the fancy thing.
This article is very informative for us. Absolutely loving light year Disneybound outfit! The monochromatic black and white theme perfectly captures his iconic spooky yet stylish vibe.
