The Secret to Quick and Easy Meals

Sharing is caring!

Quick and easy meals are my life line. I’m asked all the time how I get it all done — homeschool, writing, running multiple businesses, being a mom, being wife, and still having time for self-care. The secret is convenience.

Frozen fruits and vegetables are one shortcut I live for, and I have no problem stocking up on them. No matter the time of year, you’ll find our freeze full of fruits and vegetables we love, because it makes it so much easier to create quick and easy healthy meals during busy workdays.

How To Meal Plan The Easy Way

Having a stockpile of frozen foods and healthy options also makes meal planing so much easier. It’s much harder to plan your meals when you don’t have your staples on hand. Ask me how I know.

This past March during Frozen Food Month, I went back to stocking up on our frozen essentials at my local grocery stores. I grabbed frozen fruit for smoothies, and frozen veggies to enhance easy meals. I’ll be good to go through spring and summer.

Our Frozen Staples

Each season brings different frozen staples to our freezer. In the spring, I stock up on more ethnic vegetable medleys, like Asian vegetables. I also stock up on lots of frozen corn and broccoli. For fruits, I love to grab a big bag of mixed fruit, since they are convenient and are never out of season. We use it a lot in smoothies, and on top of yogurt for our yogurt bowls.

Listen. Convenience foods don’t always have to be unhealthy. One of my little tricks is pairing a healthier frozen meal with a bag or two of frozen veggies, and white or brown rice. Just like that, you have an inexpensive quick and easy meal that will take you less than 15 minutes to make.

There’s my secret to quick and easy meals. Use frozen fruits and vegetables to your advantage, and invest in affordable and time-saving healthy options. Boom!
