And lest SHE be tested….

Sharing is caring!

For all of you lovely people that read my blog, I know you remember my tale from last week where Hubby learned a valuable lesson. Well, just 2 days after Hubby went through his endeavor, life threw quite a curve ball at me.

I was packing up our stuff and very excited about our new move. Everything was taken care of. We had just been told from the rental office that we would be able to pick out whatever apartment we wanted from the section of the complex and the financial part was sitting right in our savings. By moving to this new place, we would be saving quite a bit of money. Just for the initial move from the old apartment was set to save us 700 dollars. If we would have stayed at the old place, we would have to shell out 2000 dollars for next month’s rent and fees(they make you pay it in advance when you re-sign your lease). Since the rent was increasing by 50 dollars a month at the old place, I knew it was time for us to go.

I was especially looking forward to the new kitchen. A kitchen with an actual window! Natural light for taking great pictures and just for cooking without a florescent bulb buzzing over my head. And the pantry room! Oh, it is beautiful! So much room; a stockpiler’s true fantasy. We had been partially living off our stockpile for the past month or so, because I truly didn’t want to have to move the big stockpile I had accumilated. I also didn’t hound as agressively as I used to, because I didn’t want to add to the madness. I didn’t sign up for any freebies or free subscription to magazines, because I was afraid of them never reaching the new address. Plus, I already knew Hubby was going to be a bit peeved at all of the heavy items we would have to move that wasn’t a microwave, couch, table or otherwise.

Halfway packed and smiling from ear to ear, I continued on. I had been packing for so long that it just seemed like second nature by now. We purged a lot of items too, which would make unpacking so much easier. Freecycle had been our good friend during this time, allowing others to benefit from the items we decided to let go.

As I stared into our bedroom closet, looking for other items to purge and even more items to pack, Hubby sat on the bed and watched.

“How long is our open lease for this apartment?” He asked.
“Uh, why?” My stomach started to gurgle. This did not sound good.
“Because I’m not sure that I want to move now.”

I couldn’t breathe…..I felt the anger build up, but as a good wife, I decided to hear him out before I bashed his head in with my cast iron skillet…..

To be continued….
(you all knew that was coming! see you tomorrow for the next part)
