When a brand not only provides employment for a well-deserved community, but brings in fresh groceries at reasonable prices, you have to pay attention. This past week, Burlington, NJ received a brand new Walmart Supercenter filled to the brim with everything their shoppers could want or need. Whether it is a new summer outfit, home decor, tools or even a wedding cake, we were able to find lots of Walmart deals at the Walmart Supercenter in Burlington!
When our family arrived, we were in awe of everything that was up for grabs. I immediately gravitated to the fresh produce section. The amount of garden fresh fruits and vegetables that were in this section took me by surprise. After venturing to the back of the grocery section, which was vast, I discovered that not only did this Walmart offer fresh produce, but also meat and dairy. I even found a vast gluten free section! Fellow blogger Dawnn from A New Dawnn commented on how much this community needed a local store like this. She only lives 5 minutes away and is very excited to frequent this Walmart for her groceries, Walmart deals, and anything else she may need for her family.
During the grand opening, Walmart Supercenter of Burlington offered plenty of fun activities. There was a Walmart banner where community members were invited to write their name, excitement for the store opening, or just about anything they could think of. There was also a neighborhood barbecue! Hot dogs, steak and fresh fruit from the produce center was served to event guests. The strawberries were so delectable, that I went right into the store and purchased 4 pints.
The kids were able to shoot hoops with Dr. Pepper, meet with the Philly Phanatic, and even get their face painted. The face painting was my daughter’s favorite part of the day, and thanks to Ms. Kim, it turned out to be my favorite as well. Ms. Kim lives locally and was very enthusiastic about the opening of the store, and her new employment. She was the epitome of community excitement. She encouraged each and every child to visit her for face painting and laughs, and when patrons passed by her booth, she exclaimed “hey family!”
Isn’t that what a community is, really? A very large family that looks out for one another. This Walmart Supercenter just became yet another member of the Burlington family, welcoming everyone into their home.
I have never been to a Wal-Mart opening but it looks amazing! All those strawberries sound amazing!
