Did you know there are hacks for just about everything? Learning how to check eggs at the grocery store is the newest hack that is changing my life. Why? Because I never knew the way I check eggs was a grocery hack.
Since I buy multiple dozens of eggs at a time, I needed to find a way to check them all quickly. Here are my two favorite ways to check eggs at the grocery store, and save some time.
How To Check Eggs At The Grocery Store
Check Eggs Two At A Time
This is the way I’ve always checked my eggs. I can’t remember when I learned it, but when we started our debt-free journey, and I knew that eggs would be our cheap protein of choice for years to come, I started to check our eggs two at a time.
Wiggle two eggs at a time, to make sure they aren’t stuck to the bottom of the carton. If they’re stuck, that means it’s cracked, and the egg has leaked onto the bottom of the carton.
Here’s a quick video of how I check eggs, two at a time.
Check Eggs By Flipping The Carton
This new egg hack has blown my mind since I learned about it on our Facebook Page. One of our Frugal Crew members shared that instead of wiggling the eggs, she flips the whole carton over! Well, I’m not converted. This has been an awesome way to check eggs now. This works best with the paper cartons, but you can carefully do it with the styrofoam cartons.
Here’s a video of me doing this new egg hack, and I even did it with one hand!
