There’s nothing better than a Star Wars Christmas. Nothing! When we learned that Disney+ will be releasing a LEGO Star Wars holiday special this year, my kids squealed.
We are obviously big fans of Star Wars, and all our our kids grew up building LEGO sets.
We even use LEGO in our homeschooling each year. It’s a staple in our house. We also are obsessed with Christmas, so any kind of holiday fun that involves Disney goes over well in our home.
Holiday Fun For The Whole Family
Judging from what Disney+ said in the press release about the LEGO Star Wars holiday special, each family member is going to enjoy this event.
The holiday special will premiere on November 17th. Life Day. Star Wars fans are familiar with Life Day, but this will be a fun way for new fans to learn about this beloved (and kooky) Wookiee holiday.
It will be fun to re-watch The Rise of Skywalker the weekend before, then watch the special the following Tuesday. If your kids haven’t seen The Rise of Skywalker yet, check out our Rise of Skywalker review for parents.
Want to learn more about this special? Here’s what Disney+ had to share:
LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special On November 17th
This holiday season, Disney+ invites LEGO and Star Wars fans to Chewbacca’s homeworld of Kashyyyk for a Wookiee-sized celebration of the galaxy’s most cheerful and magical holiday, Life Day, in the LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special, premiering exclusively on the service on Tuesday, November 17.
“The LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special” reunites Rey, Finn, Poe, Chewie, Rose and the droids for a joyous feast on Life Day, a holiday first introduced in the 1978 “Star Wars Holiday Special.”
The new LEGO special is the first to debut on Disney+ and will continue the rich legacy of collaboration between Lucasfilm and LEGO—playful adventures told in the endearingly irreverent way that only LEGO Star Wars cobranded content can.
Directly following the events of “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker,” Rey leaves her friends to prepare for Life Day as she sets off on a new adventure with BB-8 to gain a deeper knowledge of the Force.
At a mysterious Jedi Temple, she is hurled into a cross-timeline adventure through beloved moments in Star Wars cinematic history, coming into contact with Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, Yoda, Obi-Wan and other iconic heroes and villains from all nine Skywalker saga films.
But will she make it back in time for the Life Day feast and learn the true meaning of holiday spirit?
LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar!
I love that this year’s LEGO Star Wars Advent calendar was created in correlation to what we’re going to experience in the special.
It was released on September 1st, which is great for parents who loves to grab holiday gifts early (raises hand).
If you haven’t gotten your advent calendar yet, make sure you grab it! They sell out quickly every year.
There’s also the LEGO Star Wars Holiday sticker book! All 3 of my kids have been into sticker books this year, so we made sure to order 3 of these.
